Another One...

"Most important thing about Love is that ...we choose to give it ..and we choose to receive it,making it the least random act in the entire universe! It transcends blood,it transcends betrayal and all the dirt that makes us human."
~From "Chaos Theory".
And we thought "Pyar kiya nahi jata ,ho jata hai!"

Thought of the day

Samantha looks into his eyes and asks,"If two people love each other ...but they just can't seem to get it together...When do you get to that point when "Enough is Enough!" ?"
With eyes down she waits for an answer.Jerry keeps looking at her face and anticipating what his fate would be ...and why she has asked the question! Can't she understand his love for herself?
And he answers,"Never!".As plain and simple as a 'Never' can be.
She raises her eyes and looks into his. This is what she wanted to hear from him.Her serious face slowly gives way to her charismatic smile. She comes forward and takes him into her arms.

Rain,Floods,Bhubaneswar and a sad tale of two guys!!!

Raat ki neend puri karke shaam me uthe aur mann kiya ki bahar nikal k thoda ghum aayen ... Ranjan bhi sath chalne ko tayyar ho gaya tha...bas tayyar hue aur nikal gaye ...par bas hostel k baahar hi pahuchne wale the ki Indra dev ki kripa drishti waapas se hum par pad gayi ..aur kaale kaale meghon ne jam k baarish karwa di...In short ,we cancelled our plan to go out.
Its been raining heavily here (In bhubaneswar).Parts of the city has been flooded.Puri and Cuttack are also witnessing the trauma of floods.
There's one incident I am interested to share with you and its not a pleasant one.Few days back, the front page of Times Of India published an article about the sad demise of Nikhil Nayak in the flood waters...what was ironical was that the reporter had the pictures of the moment.He/She switched on the camera when Nikhil was fighting for his life after he lost his footing and was drowning. And the reporter captured the whole incident till Nikhil finally perished.I guess what was in his/her mind while doing this ... was he really praying for Nikhil to come out live 'coz that way his pics wouldnt have been that sensational.I don't know and since there's numerous possibilities of how the exact incident might have happened so I feel its better not to critisize the person further.Well,Nikhil didn't drown before the heroic effort by Rajesh Lenka failed!Seeing Nikhil drowning and crying for help he was the one ,and the only one out of hundreds of onlookers ,to respond and jump into the cruel waves to save the unknown person even if it could have meant putting his own life at stake. He told about the accident afterwards and there was pain and guilt in his words,"If one more person had helped me,Nikhil would have lived.Just one more person from the crowd of onlookers.....I could not sleep last night.Everytime I closed my eyes,I kept seeing boy's face and the way he clawed for life.....There were hundreds standing and watching us being swept away.I cried for help but no one came to our rescue. Both of us struggled very hard to come to the shore.I tried till my last breath but could not do anything.I was his last hope. When I swam to him,he clutched me so tightly that I could not move at all.Holding each other we kept fighting the floodwaters. After few minutes ,when he left me I knew I lost him."
The water was 14 feet deep and the currents were very strong. And as the pictures show,at one time the could have been rescuer himself was in deep troubles ...as he was himself about to drown saving the deceased. He was lucky he was brought ashore ,unconscious, by a boatman few minutes later.Nikhil's body was found a few kilometers away from the dreaded place entangled in bushes.

Well, such incidents happen on a daily basis and people are dying 'coz of these kinds of mishaps, but that doesn't bothers us may be 'coz we do not know about them or do not come to know about them ever. But what would have I done if I would have been in that place?Could I have been courageous enough to follow Rajesh?I don't know 'coz may be such decisions are instantaneous.I am no psychiatrist to speak exactly what might have happened in Rajesh's mind that without caring about his own life he jumped into the 14feet deep water. He might have lost the conciousness of his self-being and the greater consiousness of being human had taken over him....greater acts of courage happen only after that!

I wish , god gives me the strength at the times of such crisis...let my greater self awaken at such times.

Few Firefox addons!!!!

Well,it might sound a bit ummmm ...airy but I am slowly becoming a Firefox & Google fan like most of you sharing the contemporary world with me (hehe) and Firefox has a great collection of Browser add-Ons which are like mandatory for any web-surfer.Over the years I have made a small list of my favourite Add Ons which I would like to share with You.

1. Download Statusbar:
This Add-on installs
a download manager below the browser's status bar which helps you get rid of the (vexing, for me) pop-up download manager that's default for Firefox. You can see the current status of your downloads without leaving the main browser along with the download speed , bytes downloaded and remaining time for download. If the no. of download is more or for any reason you dont want to see the extended Download Statusbas ,there's a link for minimizing them too...and clearing the already downloaded files.(The minimizing button is not showing here probably because of the browser theme I am using right now...It gobbled up my scrollbar too.)
2. Tab Scope:
This is another Add-On that I love alot.I saw this first on My room-mate Mallick's Browser and I installed it instantane
ously.Look in the pic, although I am working in Blogspot I can see the status of other Tabs,I have currently opened ..a graphical status. You just have to hover your cursor on the tab and a small window pops up showing the contents of that tab.It does not show the flash/flv files though.

3. Download PDF:
This one I like 'coz generally the PDFs in a link take like years to open in a browser if you dont have a fast internet connection which is true (Most of the time) for my college's so called Broadband connection. This add on pops up a small window everytime you stumble upon a PDF link and asks you if you want to download it or see it and a few other options.Since most of the time this happens to me is when I am searching for an E-book on Net ...so almost all time I click the download button and thus I dont have to deal with the 'slow-down' which would happen if I have to open it everytime in the brwoser itself.Well for low sized PDFs, I dont think the slow-up will be any problem but anyway you get a good download manager.

4.Fast Video Downloader:

This one is a good add-on if you are looking to download videos from web-sites like youtube, metacafe etc.It has a very skinny interface at the corner of the status bar and everytime you wish to download any video or flash file from a web-page ,you just need to click on it.A window pops open asking you for the location to store the file.

Well, these may not be the best add-ons in their own categories .... may not be the best for you either...but they clicked for me and my browser seems incomplete without them ... so I felt the need to publicize them (and thus thank their respective authors) on my blog (after all its my blog,I can do whatever I like!) .To find out more such Add-ons or Extentions or Themes etc. you have the whole world at Firefox Addons.

Reason for a new address.

Ummm...if u don't know (which has the most probability) that I used to write blogs earlier too with the name 'roughbent' on blogger itself using my other google ID (Which I created to make multiple accounts of Diino which is an online file storage utility with 2GB of space for each account. And also since earlier I was not much sure of revealing my identity much obviously to those who already know me....I can't really figure out, now, why!!!But probably to speak out everything that could cross my head ,even ills too.But as the experience shows I could not do that (The later part ofcourse) so I thought it to be a good thing to create a new address with my most used ID.And also since I have developed a habit of using Firefox with the Bookmarks toolbar with all my favourite websites (better to say the websites I frequently visit-Orkut,Gmail,IMDB,TOI,YouTube,JavaBoutique etc.) on it (Secret~Without logging out from any of them!!!Anyway, its ok since till now I am no Bill Gates whose password you might be interested in.) and using a different ID for blogging meant either to sign out from google each time I wish to make an entry or to use a different browser all-together.And I am not much interested in any of the two options. So ...a new address.
