I know how it feels when something you love so much, is snatched from you..by the evil forces of nature ... and whats worse, you don't have the answers for what has happened!
It feels terrible, you know. You start missing out on the long hours of standing in front of the mirror and stroking your favorite thing for eternity, twisting and turning them in ways more than one and ornamenting it with an apt expression on your face!
You miss your long, shining, silky hair because some dihydrotestosterone (DHT) with the help of alpha reductase enzyme is caballing the fall of your hair.
Ok,that simply translates to "Hairloss" :)
You know, but most often than not ... these biological processes and why your body has higher levels of Testosterone (Male Sex Hormone ...also responsible for hair loss) than your friends (with beautiful girlfriends!) , you don't have an answer for them. You just have to live through what has been 'Written' in your genes.
Hairloss is one such frustrating thing.
Thankfully,a lot of research and progress in the fields of Trichology (Science of Hair and scalp) has made it possible to hold and to some extent reverse the hair loss pattern in common people. By common people I like to emphasize on the fact that the treatments have now become just affordable.
As trichologists say, most of the hair related issues are outcomes of a faulty metabolism and rectifying your diet and lifestyle can alone make a lot of difference.
Green Tea is one such product which helps a lot in the resurrection of hope, hope for a more confident tomorrow!
So what is Green Tea?
"Green tea is tea made solely with the leaves of Camellia sinensis that have undergone minimal oxidation during processing. Green tea originates from China and has become associated with many cultures in Asia from Japan to the Middle East." - Wikipedia
Among the many goodies in green Tea,There are substances called Polyphenol Catechins. Evidence indicates that these polyphenols block the action of a specific enzyme that sparks male hair loss.
In a study, mice with identical hair loss were selected and then split into two groups: group A received green tea in their drinking water, group B received only regular drinking water. The results showed that green tea halted hair loss in *all* of the test group and even triggered new hair growth in some of the mice. Significantly, some of the mice who were not invited to the tea party showed continued hair loss.
What might surprise a few people is the study concluded that green tea didn’t stop hair loss by blocking DHT, as many had originally speculated. Instead hair loss was prevented by the “anti-inflammatory” properties of green tea. Whereas blocking DHT is only of use to men, anti-inflammatories are beneficial to the hair loss of both men and women. So ladies, drink up too.
Apart from helping in reduction of hairloss, Green Tea has shown incredible potential in cure of many other dreaded deseases like
- Certain kinds of cancer
- Dental Cavities
- Cardio-vascular problems
- Kidney Stones
- Cognitive Dysfunction etc.
Over and above, it is an excellent anti-oxidant, much better than Vitamin E. So, that somehow hints that it is beneficial for people who want youthful skin even during their twilight.
Green Tea 'generally' contains Caffeine but much lesser than Coffee or normal tea. 'Generally' because some brands of Green Tea come free from caffeine. As it goes, lesser the consumption of caffeine, better it is for health overall.
So, now if you are looking for buying Green tea , may be for a trial ... just know, it is a bit expensive than your normal tea.
Major brands which manufacture green tea are Lipton, Tetley, Twinings, Tulsi etc.
As I have been purchasing green tea for sometime now so I can give you some pricing also.
Lipton : 10 Packs come for Rs. 18 (By far the cheapest I have seen)
Tetley : 10 Packes for Rs. 35
Twinings : 25 packs for Rs. 96 (It's a London based brand probably)
Two cups of tea a day is what is minimally expected.Don't expect miracles to happen overnight.
Well,I think thats it. Enjoy your health and life.
